Sylvester Stallone Receives Much-Needed ‘Reawakening’ After Brief Split With Wife: “It Was a Very Tumultuous Time”

When Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin called off their divorce in September, it formally ended what was a month-long split. During that month, Stallone started to understand that there are things more important than your work – more specifically, your family. He decided to change.

Stallone and Flavin originally met in 1988 and were dating for six years, up until he announced he was having a child with someone else. He ended up not being the father and got engaged to Angie Everhart before rekindling his love life with Flavin. They’ve been married since 1997.

“There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn,” said Stallone to The Sunday Times, adding that it ‘was a very tumultuous time’ for him, but much-needed.

Stallone and Flavin were recently seen together in New York City, just a few weeks after the reconciliation was confirmed. In fact, they were seen with Leonardo DiCaprio at an art gallery on October 6 and later went on a date night to Palo Bar – they were wearing their wedding rings.

During his interview with The Sunday Times, Stallone echoed his newfound dedication toward family and being a father. He admitted to not paying ‘enough attention when they were growing up,’ adding he was ‘so career-oriented,’ but now is more interested in learning about his family.

“I ask them about their day, and they started at first a little monosyllabic. Then I heard one say, ‘I was just thinking about you.’ Oh, my God. I’ve never heard that before in my life. When a daughter knows you care, she’s there forever,” said Stallone, who has had five children in total.

Stallone and Flavin share three daughters together – Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. Stallone also has two other children – sons Sage Moonblood and Seargeoh – with ex-wife Sasha Czack. Sage passed away in 2012 from heart disease, while Seargeoh is diagnosed with autism.
