The Simpsons is one of the longest-running television programs of all time. It’s enjoyed 31 seasons and nearly 700 episodes on air. That means there’s no shortage of imagery, characters, and weirdness to inspire tattoos. Typically, Simpsons tattoos are gotten with a grain of salt and are meant to be lighthearted and funny. We admit we did chuckle a bit as we sifted through these and discovered scenes from episodes we’d seen as kids.
We did a deep dive into the world of Simpsons-inspired tattoos to bring you some real winners that stood out to us. These tattoos are full of color and extremely creative. You’ll find everything from zombified characters to your favorite scenes from the annual Treehouse of Horror. Millhouse Is Cool
“But my mom says I’m cool,” is a signature quote from Millhouse. This classic style tattoo complete with a colorful border is a marvel.
Well, this is disturbing. We find a bold black ink design of Homer, the family’s patriarch with his lips pinned back into a smile. It scares us, but we definitely do not hate this tattoo.
This is not Homer Simpson detergent. This is Mr. Sparkles, a Japanese mascot for dishwashing detergent that bears a striking resemblance to Homer. It’s one of the great gags the show has delivered through the years.
Ghost of Bart
The artist who shared this glow tattoo included the caption, “Bart never dies.” We’re very much into this idea and this creative use of the novelty ink.
Be Like Water
This tattoo sort of looks how we feel today. Take a look at how the shading is done here to give this cat character so much texture. A very fun tattoo, indeed!
Cool Lisa deserves the world. We love the style of this tattoo in which the fill of color does not meet the outline. It gives it such a cool, 2D vibe.
Sad Boy Bart
Here we find an emotional black and grey tattoo of Bart Simpson as you’ve likely never seen him before. He’s covered with face tattoos and has his nose pierced. Cheer up, old pal!
“I am evil Homer!” We love this joyful tattoo of your fave dressed as the devil. The cute, contrasting background looks great and it’s speckled with little dots.
Lisa Is Over It
Here we find Lisa Simpson done in a 3D effect which is a really hot trend right now. Her expression here is hilarious and we’d love something similar, honestly.
Thankfully, this list was compiled around Halloween so we’ve had the pleasure of getting some wonderfully wicked spooky Simpson tattoos. This one of a zombie Homer is on of our favorites. It’s so gross!
Yes, we would like the witch form of Marge with green skin and flying a broomstick. Check out the cloud shape around her that’s filled with tons of cute little dots.
Hunter S. Thompson Homer
Here, we find Homer Simpson after getting the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas treatment. We don’t exactly know what to say about this, but we appreciate the creativity.
In the Treehouse of Horror
Treehouse of Horror episodes of The Simpsons are some of the show’s very best. We get a very frightful scene with this colorful and neat tattoo. Don’t miss Bat Bart up in the top right corner.
Ramen Is Rad
Homer fantasizing about ramen is all of us, right? This is really weird and we love it. Anything food related and we’re totally onboard for it.
As with the Hunter S. Thompson Homer, we find another variation of the character devouring a magic mushroom, because why not? We guess that’s made him transform into a strange, hippie-Mario but we’ll let you decide.
“This is pretty terrific” we see tattooed below the design. We don’t know about all that! This is so creepy!
As if Krusty the Clown wasn’t odd enough already, this tattoo takes him to a whole new level. Did you know that Krusty’s real name is Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky?
Marge and In Charge
Here we find a gorgeous tattoo of Marge that was taken from season 7, episode 14 of the show entitled “Class Struggle in Springfield.” We think Marge looks great in this getup!
‘You’ll be sorryyyyy!’
Treehouse is the gift that keeps on giving for tattoo artists because so much of the imagery created for the show has become iconic. We love this weird little hand design.
“Thanks so much for grabbing this definitely not stoned Lisa Simpson,” the artist who tattooed this wrote. This tattoo is a blast and feels like a total form of self-expression.
Comb It Over
We thought we were having a bad hair day, but we’ve got nothing on Marge in this tattoo. This very funny design is pure, unfiltered, joy in tattoo form.
