While ultimatums may not be the healthiest in relationships, they continue to be a reality for some – even when it comes to deciding on a partner’s tattoo.
A new mother recently posted to Mumsnet asking for the interweb’s assistance as she found herself in a situation with her husband that could potentially jeopardize their marriage.
“Me and my husband have been married for 10 years we have a 3-year-old together.”
She revealed how prior to their meeting, she had already had been sporting ink.
[Before] we met I already had 3 tattoos on my wrists and ankle.”

But when she informed her husband how she wanted to add to her body, he gave her a steep ultimatum.
“Last night I told him I wanted another tattoo, which he went crazy at saying he would leave if I got another one. He said that they disgust him and that he wouldn’t be able to look at me if I got one.”
The woman had planned for her next tattoo to be a sweet tribute to her daughter.
“The tattoo would be on my forearm and it will be roses, a stop clock and my [daughter’s] name and birth date.”
And while she desperately wants a tattoo, she is not sure if it’s worth losing her marriage.
“I really really want the tattoo, but if I get it I risk my marriage. I don’t know what to do.”
