Chrissy Teigen never fails to impress! The cookbook author and entertainer shared her boldest tattoos to date with fans last week. In a black and white photo she shared on Instagram, she showed off the new tattoos which were blissfully minimal and sleek. Comprised of dots that extend up and down each ringer in lines with a break for the knuckle and a little dot near each fingernail, the design is deceptively simple.
We thought her newest tattoos, done by celebrity tattoo artist Winterstone, looked so sharp that we were inspired to find other finger tattoos that look just as handsome and put together. We were shocked that the world of finger tattoos offers so much nuance. Tattoo artists are killing these designs and decorating people’s hands in ways we never dreamed of! Check out Teigen’s newest ink and then scroll through to discover more tattoo possibilities.
Chrissy Teigan’s Finger Dots Tattoos Are So Cute!
“Please don’t tell me this means something in morse code, I just like dots,” the model captioned the photo on Instagram. Fans responded overwhelmingly in favor of the new tattoos. We must admit, we think it looks so unique and fun. Let’s see what else is out there, shall we?
Mandala Inspired Dream
We think these finger tattoos might be a touch too busy for Chrissy, but we love how dainty and decorative the mandala design looks here. We imagine this tattoo was completed using a stick and poke application which involves manual tattooing with a needle and no machine. You can get much sharper lines this way, though it is time-consuming. This is very reminiscent of Mehndi.
Cute Micro Tattoos
How good are these little micro tattoos? We find an Aries symbol, snake, eye, and other shapes including the little dots near the fingernails just like Chrissy Teigen chose. Again, these were likely applied using a stick and poke method. What fun!
Feeling the Floral
How good are these little vine and flower tattoos? Look to the botanic world for inspiration is always a smart idea. These delicate designs have been so sharply applied. Take a look at one of the shaded leaves and you will see a ton of teeny-tiny dots. How remarkable!
Break a Tiny Heart
Here’s another finger tattoo idea we really love. This person has gone very minimal here choosing a heart symbol in simple, black ink. It’s is so so small which makes it feel perfect. Any super tiny shapes like these would work great if you find the right tattoo artist to collaborate with.
Dots and Dashes
The artist responsible for this tattoo confirmed that it was the result of being “handpoked” which is simply another term for stick and poke. It shows as these lines and little dots are just so fine and neat. We love the way the lines mimic jewelry. Jewelry you don’t have to take off!
Waves on Waves
Take a look at this person’s fingers on the hand closest to their chest in this shot. We love the hypnotic wave design that’s a considerable amount more coverage than many others on this list. However, if you have bold taste, it could be the perfect sort of design for you!
Fit for a Cookbook Author?
What do you think Chrissy would think of these kitchen tools micro tattoos? We feel like a cookbook author such as herself would approve. Expressing who you are is what tattoos are for! Get personal with it and you will not regret it!

Dots and Abstract Shapes
A series of dots and crosses dot the real estate on these fingers. We think something similar to this would be perfect for someone who wanted more than just the tiny little dots, but not much more! We think this is really cute!
Flowers on Repeat
Wow! These flowers that repeat on each finger are really fun. We like the placement near the finger nails. We realize that it might be “too much” for some but for a lover of flowers who want to express their love, something similar would be perfect.
We find vaguely geometric designs that look so fashionable and interesting. We love the juxtaposition of these lines with the circular shapes on the three fingers in the middle of the pack.
Check out these dangly little designs that remind us of crystals hanging from a chandelier. The lines are so thin making them appear even more special.
Everyday objects as subject for tattoos has emerged as a really fun tattoo trend in recent years. A spring, match, fingernail clippers, and a spring make a debut in these finger tattoos. We love how seemingly random they are, just like life.
Simplest Line Tattoo
What do you think of this very thin ring formed by a very fine line? Would you like something this simple? We think it is fun and a great way to get started on a finger tattoo journey. It’s stunning in its solidarity and simplicity.
Stick to the Dots
For those of you who think Chrissy took it too far with her dots, how about these even more scaled-back finger dots? We think these dot tattoos could be a compromise for those who are intrigued but do not want to go all in.
Feeling Those Phases
We dig this double decker finger tattoo design. More intricate shapes are found near the fingertips while the moon in its stages are found on top. Too much or just right?
Not many are bold enough to go with color on the fingers. It should also be noted that stick and poke tattoos have more of a tendency to fade over time. Thus, colorful ink will not stay as vibrant for as long. However, this green botanical element looks gorgeous now.
The Smallest Key You’ve Ever Seen
Wow! Have you ever seen a tattoo so small look so neat? We can see notches in the key as well as other design features despite it being no bigger than a needle. We are very much into this idea.
Meaningful tattoos are the name of the game and these symbols mean something to the person who has handpicked them for these finger tattoos. They all are composed of lines the same width which makes the overall design look uniform and neat.
We doubt many people are attracted to getting something like “SELF MADE” tattooed across their fingers in huge letters, but what about these very neat and petite typeface letters? We think these tattoos look very pleasant.
Between the Fingers
We are not entirely sure where we stand when it comes to tattoos on the inside or between the fingers. It’s emerged as a trend in recent years. If you like the idea, tattooing in this location will offer a more subtle tattoo, almost a peek-a-boo.
A Different Take
We feel this glittery glam star moment. Repeating the star design is fun and still remains pretty abstract while still being evocative of stars or sparkles.
Black & White
Here’s a mandala-inspired tattoo design that you will encounter often when looking at people’s finger tattoos. What is unique is the white ink that has been applied here. White ink tattoos have become extremely popular even though they do not hold up well and fade relatively fast. It looks great as a highlight here.
Subtlest Finger Tattoos
Now that we showed you the possibilities that white ink can open up for finger tattoos, we want to share a couple of examples of just white ink. These tattoos are the subtlest way possible to get you some ink on your digits.
White ink will fade over time becoming virtually invisible for most within a year or two. That could appeal to you though! We think they are a super fun way for folks to express themselves without being saddled with the knowledge that they will leave an immortal mark.
There you go! We hope Chrissy Teigen and these finger tattoos inspired you to come up with your own designs. Collaborate with an artist you trust and talk to them the possibilities of a stick and poke design for those really sharp shapes and lines.
